“Re-member” by Katelyn Dixon

For all that we cannot remember, there is One who re-members us.
In the indefinite space between longing and sight,
someone holds our forgotten name
and will one day hand it to us
like an apple plucked, ripened and perfect —
or a marbled white stone, polished and pure.

Tell me what you long for, and I will tell you your name.

We are pilgrims here. Pilgrims of longing —
but not for long,
not for long.

Longing one, thirsty one, take my hand.

Let us remember: We have been named.
