About
Filipe Amado is a creative director, documentary filmmaker, and theologian whose work explores how artistic expression bridges cultural and spiritual conversations in contemporary society. His feature documentary Dust & Color, an official selection of DOCUTAH 2026, follows nine artists from the US, Canada, Brazil, and Bolivia as they navigate the intersection of creativity, faith, and vocation. The film has screened in Brazil, Canada, and the United States in intimate community settings paired with director-led conversations.
He holds a Master of Arts in Christianity & the Arts from Regent College, with further studies in Missiology, and graphic and editorial design, as well as a BA in Business & Management (Marketing) . Having lived in six countries and worked in more than seventeen, he shapes his storytelling through cross-cultural dialogue and a commitment to creating space for honest questions rather than easy answers.
Previous works include the short documentaries Between Chaos & Beauty (2021) and Movements in the Dwindling of Time (2020). He also served as editor-in-chief of De Onde Brota a Esperança (Where Hope Begins, 2023), a collaborative publication featuring Brazilian writers and artists.
